We’re recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a growing and highly values-led children’s care provider in Nottingham, supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), trauma-related needs, and mild learning or developmental difficulties within small therapeutic homes.
This organisation has been founded by an incredibly passionate leadership team with a genuine focus on improving outcomes for children and young people. The Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a key leadership role within the home, supporting the management team with the day-to-day running of the service whilst leading shifts and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading shifts and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
- Supporting and mentoring Residential Support Workers
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Supporting care plans, behaviour plans, and risk assessments
- Promoting positive outcomes through trauma-informed practice
- Completing accurate records, reports, and safeguarding documentation
- Supporting children with routines, education, activities, and independence skills
- Assisting management with compliance and preparation for Ofsted inspections
- Creating a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within residential childcare
- Experience leading shifts or mentoring staff
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
- Willingness to undertake Level 4 qualification
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care
- Confident, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
