Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people? We’re recruiting for Residential Support Workers to join a growing, values-led children’s care provider in Nottingham, supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), trauma-related needs, and mild learning or developmental difficulties within small, therapeutic residential homes.

This provider is led by an incredibly passionate leadership team with a genuine focus on outcomes, relationships, and creating stable, nurturing environments where children can thrive. Their homes are intentionally small, allowing for highly personalised care and stronger staff-to-child relationships.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting children with their day-to-day lives, emotional wellbeing, education, routines, and personal development. You’ll help create a safe, consistent, and therapeutic environment where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches
  • Assisting with routines, education, appointments, and activities
  • Promoting independence and life skills development
  • Completing daily records, reports, and safeguarding documentation
  • Working closely with families, social workers, and external professionals
  • Supporting children through challenging behaviours positively and consistently
  • Contributing to a safe, homely, and nurturing environment

About You

  • Experience working with children or vulnerable young people
  • Passionate, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
