The Role
As Registered Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the leadership, development, and day-to-day management of the home, ensuring children receive outstanding levels of care within a safe, stable, and nurturing environment. You’ll work closely with a highly supportive senior leadership team and play a key role in shaping the culture, standards, and long-term success of the service.
Responsibilities
- Leading the day-to-day operations of the children’s home
- Ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Home Regulations 2015
- Creating a positive, child-centred, and therapeutic culture within the home
- Leading, developing, and supporting the staff team
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Managing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Building strong relationships with local authorities and external professionals
- Driving positive outcomes for children across education, wellbeing, and independence
- Preparing for and leading Ofsted inspections with the aim of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ outcomes
- Supporting recruitment, staff development, and team retention
About You
- Previous experience within children’s residential care at management or deputy level
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Passionate about therapeutic and trauma-informed care
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Child-focused, resilient, and values-driven approach
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
