Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + additional pay for weekend on-call

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (flexibility available)

We’re working with a growing children’s residential care provider who is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s home in Liverpool supporting young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred care. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the leadership, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance of the home, ensuring it consistently operates to Good or Outstanding Ofsted standards.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing a stable, motivated staff team
  • Creating a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive
  • Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home
  • Ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks
  • Overseeing care planning, safeguarding processes, and risk management
  • Completing Regulation 45 Quality of Care Reviews and implementing improvement plans
  • Working collaboratively with social workers, local authorities, schools, and health professionals
  • Managing recruitment, supervision, training, and development of staff
  • Overseeing the home’s budget and ensuring resources are used effectively

You will also participate in the on-call rota, including occasional weekday evenings and shared weekend on-call duties with additional pay provided.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in regulated children’s residential care within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted frameworks
  • Experience managing safeguarding concerns and complex behaviours
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes or supporting the registration of new homes would be highly advantageous.
