Head of Recruitment – Ofsted Services Location: Walsall, West Midlands Salary: £40,000–£60,000 Contract: Full-Time, Permanent We are working with a growing specialist care organisation based in Walsall, supporting children, young people and young adults through a range of Ofsted and CQC-regulated services. The organisation operates across children's residential care, supported accommodation and transitional services, with a strong emphasis on therapeutic practice, safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes. Their approach is centred around creating safe, consistent environments where young people can build confidence, develop independence and progress towards brighter futures. As the organisation continues to develop its services, they are now looking to appoint a Head of Recruitment to take ownership of recruitment across the business, with particular responsibility for the Ofsted-regulated side of the organisation. The Role This is a key position within the business, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure the organisation continues to attract and appoint high-quality people who are suitable for its regulated services. You will take ownership of the recruitment function, with a particular focus on Ofsted recruitment, candidate suitability and maintaining robust recruitment standards. The role will include: Taking overall ownership of recruitment across the organisation
Leading recruitment for Ofsted-regulated children's services
Overseeing the recruitment process for key management and frontline positions
Ensuring candidates are appropriately assessed against the requirements of their roles
Developing and maintaining robust recruitment processes
Building strong and sustainable candidate pipelines
Working closely with service managers and senior leadership to understand workforce requirements
Supporting the attraction, screening, interviewing and onboarding of candidates
Ensuring recruitment activity reflects the organisation's values and standards
Identifying opportunities to improve recruitment processes, candidate quality and retention
Providing oversight and direction to the wider recruitment function
About the Organisation The organisation has developed a broader support structure around its services, with dedicated Recruitment, HR, Compliance, Quality Assurance, Finance and Bookings teams working alongside managers and frontline services. This creates a joined-up infrastructure designed to allow operational teams to remain focused on the young people they support. Their care model places a strong emphasis on therapeutic relationships, trauma and attachment-informed practice, safeguarding, emotional safety and helping young people progress towards greater confidence and independence. Their wider training programme includes areas such as PACE, trauma and attachment, positive behaviour support, safeguarding and restraint reduction. About You We are looking for an experienced recruitment professional who understands the demands of Ofsted-regulated services and the importance of getting the right people into positions of responsibility. You will ideally have: Proven recruitment experience within children's social care, residential care or another Ofsted-regulated environment
A strong understanding of recruitment within regulated services
Experience recruiting for management and/or frontline care positions
Excellent candidate assessment and interviewing skills
Strong organisational and communication skills
A thorough and compliance-focused approach
The ability to build effective relationships with senior leaders and operational teams
Experience developing recruitment processes and improving candidate pipelines
The confidence to take ownership of a recruitment function and help shape its future direction
