We’re supporting a new and ambitious children’s care provider to recruit a Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up, for a brand‑new residential home in Hale Barns. This is a brilliant opportunity to play a key role in launching a service from the ground up, with full involvement in shaping the culture, building a team, and delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care within a therapeutic environment. The home will support up to four young people with emotional and behavioural needs and/or learning disabilities, operating with a PACE / DDP approach at its core.
The Role
- Take full responsibility for the setup, registration, and ongoing management of the home, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Lead the home through Ofsted registration and inspection readiness.
- Build, develop and manage a high‑performing staff team.
- Embed a therapeutic, child‑focused culture across the service.
- Ensure safeguarding and compliance standards are consistently met.
- Oversee care planning, risk management, and positive outcomes for young people.
- Manage budgets, staffing levels, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Work collaboratively with external professionals, families, and local authorities.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience within children’s residential care, ideally in EBD and/or LD services.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding frameworks.
- Proven leadership skills or clear readiness to step into a management role.
- Confidence in running or supporting the day‑to‑day operations of a home.
- A passion for delivering high‑quality, nurturing care and achieving positive outcomes.
- Relevant qualifications in residential childcare/management (Level 5 desirable).
