LNG Risk Analyst – Physical LNG Market Experience Essential

We are exclusively partnering with a top-tier global energy trading business to find an experienced LNG Risk Analyst with proven exposure to physical LNG markets. This is a high-visibility position in a growing global risk team, supporting one of the firm’s most commercially important desks. You’ll be embedded in the heart of the LNG business — helping to assess market risk, structure risk tools, and directly influence trading decisions.
The Opportunity
- Act as the key market risk analyst for a complex and global physical LNG portfolio
- Monitor, measure, and challenge risks arising from physical cargoes, storage, shipping, and long-term SPAs
- Deliver accurate and insightful daily risk reporting: VaR, stress tests, P&L explain
- Work cross-functionally with trading, structuring, shipping, and middle office teams
- Contribute to ongoing system and model enhancements, with a focus on LNG-specific exposures
Essential Requirements
- 1–5 years of experience in a commodity risk role, with direct exposure to physical LNG markets
- In-depth understanding of LNG value chains: supply, delivery, shipping, and contract optionality
- Experience working alongside or supporting LNG traders
- Strong analytical skills and fluency in Excel; Python or SQL a plus
- Confident communicator with a proactive, commercial mindset
