RJC Have partnered with a global energy trading firm who are seeking a Senior Market Risk Analyst with a strong understanding of LNG market dynamics.

The role focuses on analysing complex LNG market exposures, evaluating risk models, and ensuring strong risk governance across physical and financial LNG portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and report daily LNG market risk exposures, including VaR, stress tests, position limits, and P&L attribution.
• Analyse drivers of exposure across physical cargoes, shipping, term contracts, derivatives, and optionality structures.
• Assess and enhance valuation methodologies for LNG pricing curves, basis relationships, and shipping cost assumptions.
• Challenge decision making behind trading strategies, structured deals, optimisation activities, and new market entries.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in market risk within LNG or broader gas trading.
• Strong understanding of LNG market fundamentals
• Advanced analytical skills (Python, SQL, or similar).
• Proficiency in key risk metrics, optionality analysis, and model validation.
• Base salary up to £120k + competitive bonus structure
