R J Bull Limited is seeking a motivated individual to join our specialist environmental contracting team, with the opportunity to develop a long-term career within the river, wetland and habitat enhancement works we deliver. We place greater value on enthusiasm, commitment and a genuine interest in the natural environment than on existing experience.
This role may suit someone looking to build on current land-based or construction experience, or an individual seeking a paid “learn-as-you-work” opportunity within the environmental sector. Extensive practical and theoretical training will be provided, including the safe operation of specialist plant and machinery. The role is physically demanding and requires a strong focus on health, safety and environmental best practice, which are central to how R J Bull operates on site. You will be based in the Winchester area, but project work is carried out across the UK, and travel and occasional overnight stays will be required. Over time, we are looking for the successful candidate to develop into a key member of the site team, with progression into a team leader role.
You will be involved in the practical delivery of high-quality environmental enhancement projects, including river restoration, wetland creation and habitat improvement works. All work is carried out in accordance with strict health, safety and environmental standards, and you will receive ongoing training and mentoring to support your development. This role would particularly suit someone wishing to move from a more conventional land-based role into a career focused on conservation, restoration and environmental improvement.
Work at R J Bull is varied, hands-on and highly rewarding, offering the opportunity to see tangible, positive outcomes for the environment and a strong sense of achievement upon project completion.
The standard working week is 45 hours, with additional hours required during key stages of projects. Occasional weekend working may be necessary. This is a full-time position, although a flexible approach to working hours can be considered where practicable.
