This is a rare opportunity to take genuine ownership of an enterprise-wide incident management function within a large, consumer-facing business operating in a heavily regulated environment. The organisation is at an important point in its compliance maturity journey — investing in capability, building out governance infrastructure and professionalising the way it manages risk and regulatory relationships. You will be the subject matter expert and day-to-day lead for everything related to incident identification, management, escalation and regulatory notification. This is a visible, senior role with direct access to executive committees and board-level forums.
What You'll Be Doing
- Incident Framework & Oversight: You will design, implement and continuously enhance the enterprise-wide incident management framework. You will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of all incidents, from identification and triage through to root cause analysis, remediation and closure.
- Regulatory Engagement: You will act as the primary point of contact for the relevant regulatory body, leading preparation and submission of all regulatory notifications and disclosures, coordinating responses to enquiries and information requests, and supporting inspections, audits and thematic reviews.
- Reporting & Governance: You will develop and deliver high-quality MI and incident reporting for Executive Committees and Board-level governance forums.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Culture: You will build strong relationships across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations and Technology, providing guidance and training to the business on incident identification and reporting obligations. A key part of the role is supporting a culture of transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Crisis Support: When major or high-impact incidents occur, you will play a key leadership role — coordinating response, managing regulatory communications and ensuring the organisation's handling is timely, accurate and defensible under scrutiny.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in incident management, compliance or risk within a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and reporting requirements.
- Experience managing regulatory relationships and external engagement.
- Proven ability to lead complex investigations and remediation programmes.
- Calm, decisive and credible under pressure — able to lead when it matters most.
- Excellent stakeholder management and written communication skills.
- High integrity, sound judgement and a strategic mindset.
- Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Experience supporting regulatory inspections or enforcement actions.
If you are someone who finds genuine satisfaction in bringing structure to complexity, thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to be at the centre of how a business manages its regulatory relationships — this is worth a conversation. To find out more, please get in touch in confidence.
