We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team and support our job costing and payroll processes. This is a highly data-entry focused role and plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting across the business. The role is office-based and would suit someone who is highly organised, conscientious, and confident working with Excel and financial data.
You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely data entry and finance support, ensuring labour costs are correctly journaled to jobs and payroll information is processed accurately.
Responsibilities
- Entering weekly timesheet data for approximately 60 site operatives, including hours per day, job task numbers and standard and overtime hours across multiple rates.
- Journaling labour costs into the job costing system against the correct job and task codes.
- Tracking and monitoring the receipt of weekly timesheets.
- Raising intercompany journals for cross-company working.
- Supporting payroll processing, including payroll checks.
- Updating employee job costing rates within the job costing system as required.
- Providing ad hoc general finance and administrative support.
Skills & Experience Required
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and finance processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including confidence working with spreadsheets and formulas.
- Experience using finance ledgers or job costing systems.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conscientious, dependable, and comfortable working to weekly deadlines.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience in a construction, engineering, or project-based environment.
- Exposure to payroll or labour cost reporting.
