Senior Regional Sales Director with Telco & Cloud experience

My client, one of the world\’s leading and innovative ICT companies, is looking to recruit a Senior Regional Sales Director with proven expertise in telecoms and cloud technologies.

Suitable candidates would have worked for or closely alongside companies such as VMWare / Broadcom, Microsoft, Redhat, Windriver, Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Ericsson, or Intel.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy, creating specific regional sales plans with clear pathways to meet objectives and revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with dedicated pre-sales/solution engineering teams to drive business success across Europe.
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage partner and go-to-market (GTM) relationships to enhance sales efforts.
  • Maintain disciplined and transparent reporting, with regular updates on weekly sales activities and regional progress.
  • Possess 15+ years of leadership experience in consultative on-premise cloud software sales, HCI at scale (SaaS, PaaS). Experience with VMware and Redhat is advantageous.
  • Have at least the last 5 years of in-region experience focused on cloud, orchestration, virtualization, and HCI sales within the Telco/SP market.
  • Build high-level relationships (C-level) within global telecom operators to facilitate decision-making, commercial agreements, and project wins.
  • Have a technical background with an engineering degree and experience managing cross-disciplinary teams, including Sales, Pre-Sales, Engineering, and Customer Success.
  • Be fluent in English; proficiency in German or Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrate a track record in closing multiple cloud software deals in the last 5 years, playing a key role in deal closures.
  • Exhibit strong communication, presentation, and representation skills, capable of acting as a technology brand ambassador at industry events.
