Role Overview
We’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Merchandiser to join us as we enter this next stage of growth. As an Assistant Merchandiser, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our products are perfectly positioned across channels, optimising sales, and delivering a seamless experience for our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with cross‑functional teams and make a tangible impact on our growing business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Trading & Sales Optimisation
- Prepare and present weekly trade packs calling out key risks and opportunities related to your categories.
- Conduct site walks and raise e‑commerce trading proposals to identify opportunities for growth and mitigate stock risks.
- Update weekly sales reports including line cards and WSSI, updating forecasts and proposing trading actions.
- Conduct weekly reviews of store allocations, amending IAQs based on sales and adding or removing lines from each store’s range in reaction to trade.
- Conduct monthly store visits to discuss successes and failures from each store’s stock package.
- Propose actions to transition specific styles to the archive when necessary.
- Stock Management
- Oversee retail stock ensuring each store has the optimal range to maximise sales opportunities and manage stock levels to minimise missed opportunity while keeping consolidation volumes within target KPIs.
- Propose stock movements between stores where styles are performing better or worse in certain locations.
- Oversee and sign off weekly store allocations with the team MAA before they are sent down to pick.
- Seasonal Planning
- Compile and maintain the seasonal planning for owned categories.
- Assist in range building for owned categories, analysing key attributes and highlighting risk and opportunities.
- Compile new season buy proposals for owned categories.
- Sizing and Pricing
- Compile size ratios for new season buys and balance backs for repeat orders on owned categories.
- Delivery and Communication
- Collaborate with the MAA (Merchandising Admin Assistant) to manage delivery schedules and communicate intake dates or delays to the store teams.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Proven experience in an assistant merchandiser role, ideally within the fashion industry.
- Experience in allocating to stores.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and propose actionable insights.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience working with Netsuite and Shopify would be helpful.
