ABOUT RIXO
A rail of vintage dresses.
A London flat.
Two best friends who wanted to build the brand they couldn't find.
That was 2015.
Today, RIXO is seven stores across London, New York, and Ireland, known for original hand-painted prints, bias-cut silhouettes, and sizing up to a UK 26.
We design for every woman, every occasion, every body.
The pieces are meant to be worn, loved, and kept.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an exceptional Head of Global Communications & Press to play a pivotal role in continuing to build RIXO's global profile, reputation and cultural relevance, leading RIXO's global communications function across press, influencer, affiliate, VIP and celebrity activity, as maternity cover for a critical 12-month period.
This is a strategic and hands-on role, combining brand building with day-to-day execution and relationship management.
At the core of the role is relationship building.
You'll be a natural networker and an exceptional communicator, with an established network across global fashion media, influencers, stylists, celebrities, VIPs and wider cultural tastemakers.
Reporting directly to the Creative Director and Co-Founder, this role will work closely with the wider leadership team and marketing, creative, commercial and retail teams to identify opportunities to put RIXO at the centre of the cultural conversation and build meaningful, long-term relationships with the people who influence fashion and culture globally.
We are looking for someone to start in January 2027.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Global Communications & Press Strategy
- Own RIXO's global communications and press strategy - annual and seasonal planning across markets, audiences and channels - aligned to wider brand, marketing and commercial objectives.
- Lead communications around collection launches, campaigns, brand partnerships and collaborations, ensuring consistent, compelling RIXO storytelling globally and identifying opportunities to reach new audiences.
- Manage communications relationships with partner brands and their agencies, ensuring collaborations deliver meaningful brand value and cultural relevance.
- Lead the profiling strategy for founders Henrietta Rix and Orlagh Mc Closkey, identifying high-value media, speaking and thought-leadership opportunities.
- Act as senior spokesperson and guardian of the RIXO brand, ensuring communications remain consistent with its values and positioning.
- Identify potential communications risks and ensure appropriate plans are in place, leading the response to reputational issues or crises in partnership with senior leadership
- Press & Media Relations
- Lead global press strategy and day-to-day media relations across UK, US and international markets, managing the Senior Press Manager and maintaining a high-level network of editors, writers and broadcasters.
- Oversee press launches, previews, showroom appointments and editorial seeding, developing compelling press materials and messaging with the wider team.
- Monitor the global media landscape to identify new opportunities and ensure RIXO is consistently represented within the right editorial environments.
- Influencer, Creator & Affiliate
- Oversee RIXO's global influencer, creator and affiliate strategy, managing the Influencer & Affiliate Manager, and building authentic relationships with high-value creators and tastemakers aligned to the brand.
- Lead RIXO's affiliate strategy across platforms including Rakuten, Shop My and LTK, setting commission structures and partner incentives to scale revenue and strengthen high-performing partnerships.
- Identify opportunities to convert influencer relationships into longer-term brand or affiliate partnerships, and own affiliate reporting and performance analysis to continually optimise the programme and partner mix, working with Digital on budget.
- VIP, Celebrity & Events
- Lead RIXO's global celebrity, VIP and stylist strategy, combining strong in-house relationships with strategic management of the external VIP agency.
- Build senior relationships with celebrities, VIPs, stylists, agents and publicists, overseeing dressing across red carpet, premieres, editorial and key cultural moments.
- Lead strategy for RIXO's global press, influencer, VIP and brand events - concepts, guest strategies and on-the-day communications - ensuring activity builds long-term relationships rather than one-off moments.
- Team Leadership & Budget
- Lead, mentor and develop the global communications and press team, providing clear direction and building a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Work closely with Marketing, Digital, Retail, Design, Wholesale and Commercial to embed communications into wider business planning, representing the function at senior meetings.
- Own the global communications budget, ensuring spend is strategically allocated and monitored with no overspend, and manage agency/supplier budgets and negotiations.
- Set and report on KPIs across press, influencer, affiliate, VIP and broader communications activity, translating performance into clear business insights that refine strategy.
