Hours: Monday to Friday + Saturday on call rota
Overview: Rix Heating Services has been a trusted name in oil-fired appliance servicing and repairs for over 60 years. We’re part of the Rix Group – a family-run business with a strong reputation for reliability, customer care, and technical expertise. Due to continued growth in customer demand, we’re looking for an experienced Heating Engineer with a background in oil-fired appliances to join our expanding team. We operate across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, and Lincolnshire, with opportunities available in each region.
As an Oil-Fired Heating Engineer, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Servicing and repairing oil-fired boilers and heating systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out maintenance and safety checks
- Responding to breakdowns and emergency callouts
- Occasionally working on AGA/Rayburn units (training can be provided if needed)
The successful candidate will have:
Essential:
- A strong understanding of heating system designs
- The ability to be able to problem solve & think laterally
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience servicing/repairing oil fired appliances
- Polite, professional, and customer-focused
- Able to work independently and manage your own time
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience with AGA/Rayburn appliances
- OFTEC qualified (current or recently expired)
- Unvented qualification
- Basic plumbing knowledge
Package:
- £35,000 - £39,000 per annum dependant on experience
- Regular overtime available – Realistic OTE £42,000 per annum
