This is an opportunity to play a key role in the replacement of Riviera’s core systems used to manage holiday inventory, customer bookings, operational delivery, and customer relationships, working as part of a high-profile programme delivering a seamless transition from legacy systems to a modern data environment. What you’ll be doing

  • Working across the Data and Reporting workstream, you will:
  • Follow guiding principles of the Data Migration Strategy
  • Help facilitate the running of a business-facing Data Working Group
  • Perform data profiling and create tests based on agreed Data Quality Rules
  • Review existing business data to assess quality, completeness, and consistency
  • Perform data cleansing/standardisation/conversion and de-duplication prior to migration
  • Specify, document and perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)
  • Support the creation of a single trusted source for Customer Data within Azure Data Platform
  • Document the data mapping between old and new systems including Transformation Rules
  • Design and Build scripts to ensure data is migrated securely, accurately, and auditable
  • Validate data synch between legacy and new platforms to enable transitional working
  • Work with business teams and the data working group to validate implemented rules and the cleansed and migrated data
  • Identify, extract, anonymise, provision and refresh data for consumption in system testing, User Acceptance Testing, end-to-end Business Testing and user training
  • Ensure outputs are checked and validated before handing over to formal testing
  • Support testing and reconciliation of migrated data during UAT and go-live
  • Identification and documentation of data sources for key business reports
  • Specification and testing of technical measures to achieve reporting continuity
  • Support to the Business to validate the accuracy of reports & MI containing data derived from dual systems during migration period

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience defining, performing and validating data migration on large-scale IT projects
  • Proven ability to undertake cleansing exercises, including auditable reconciliation and data enrichment
  • Hands-on experience with data ETL and Reporting tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, SSIS, PowerBI
  • Technical capability to perform source data analysis to inform data flow documentation and develop technical requirements for data feed change
  • Technical skills to analyse and reconcile reporting outputs, identifying sources of discrepancy and diagnosing root causes
  • Demonstrable experience of personally defining and performing data migration, validation and assurance activities
  • Demonstrable experience of working with business-critical and confidential data in small team environments with direct responsibility for achieving milestones (TCQ)
  • Demonstrable experience of effective working and collaborative delivery in matrix-managed programme teams
  • Good understanding of data structures, formats, and mapping techniques
  • Experience working with legacy systems and modern cloud-based platforms
  • Attention to detail and production of clear documentation and audit trails for data migration activities
  • Familiarity with data security and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with development & test management tools e.g. (Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business teams
  • Experience in the travel or booking systems domain (preferred but not essential)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in data management, IT, or a related field (preferred)
