We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Capacity Planning Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal capacity planning across our tour operations, balancing supply and demand to maximise profitability and customer satisfaction. Reporting into the Capacity Planning Manager, you will work closely with Commercial, Finance, Product, and Sales teams to forecast demand, manage inventory, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Capacity Planning & Forecasting
- Develop and maintain accurate capacity plans across destinations, products, and channels.
- Forecast demand using historical data, market trends, and booking patterns.
- Identify capacity gaps and recommend adjustments to optimise load factors and margins.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse booking trends, yield performance, and customer behaviour to inform planning decisions.
- Produce regular reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders.
- Monitor booking trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to help inform capacity decisions.
- Commercial Strategy Support
- Collaborate with Commercial and Product teams to align capacity with pricing and promotional strategies.
- Support tactical decisions around flight allocations, hotel contracts, departure schedules, and group bookings.
- Provide scenario modelling to assess the impact of strategic changes.
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Work with IT and BI teams to enhance planning tools and data accuracy.
- Automate reporting processes where possible to improve efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity of capacity data across planning systems and commercial platforms.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Commercial, Product, Finance, and senior management teams to help align capacity with business strategy and financial targets.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support cross-functional projects related to growth, efficiency, and customer experience.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in capacity planning, forecasting, or commercial analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience working with large datasets and planning systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of tour operating or travel industry dynamics.
