About the Role: Riviera is embarking on an exciting data transformation journey, modernising how we define, govern and use data across the business. With new technology, growing analytics capability and an increasing demand for accurate, well‑structured insight, we are building a stronger data foundation to support smarter decision making. To help us achieve this, we are now looking for a Data Business Analyst who can bring clarity, structure and collaboration as we shape and deliver high quality data products that will power the future of Riviera.
What you will be doing:
- Working with business stakeholders and the Analytics and Insights team to understand the decisions they need to make and the questions they need to answer.
- Translating requirements into clear problem statements, user cases, structured specifications and user stories.
- Defining business‑ready data and analytics requirements including metric definitions, source system mapping, grain, time logic and acceptance criteria.
- Supporting our Data Product Owner with backlog management.
- Partnering with the Data Governance Lead and Data Owners around the business to align definitions, maintain data quality and uphold governance standards.
- Coordinating business testing, reconciliation and validation so that every data product is accurate and ready for release.
- Acting as a trusted intermediary between technical delivery teams and the business, clearly communicating scope, assumptions and constraints.
Strong experience eliciting and documenting business requirements. Ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear, testable specifications. Experience working with Agile delivery teams and backlogs. Solid understanding of Relational and dimensional data concepts, KPIs, metrics, and time‑based calculations, reporting and analytics use cases and ability to read and reason about SQL based logic (not necessarily write production code). Familiarity with Power BI reports and semantic models, Databricks/lakehouse concepts (bronze/silver/gold) and Enterprise data platforms (Azure‑based strongly preferred). Experience working with governed analytics environments. Understanding of data governance principles (definitions, ownership, quality). Experience supporting UAT, reconciliation, and sign‑off processes. Awareness of data privacy and access control considerations (at a conceptual level).
About you: You bring energy, curiosity and a calm confidence to everything you do. You love getting to the heart of the why, you communicate with warmth and diplomacy, and you thrive on turning detail into meaningful outcomes. You collaborate naturally, stay composed when things get busy, and bring a mindset that lifts the people and projects around you. This is an exciting time to join Riviera Travel as we transform how we use data across the business. You will work with modern technology, contribute to the design of data products that will shape our future, and be part of a supportive and collaborative team. If you are passionate about data, thrive on bringing clarity to complex environments and want to make a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
