Come and join our team at Riverway Foods in Harlow. In this permanent role you will support the Intake department by safely and efficiently unloading vehicles around the premises. You will also support the despatch function by ensuring products are stored and picked efficiently and in accordance to customer order requirements.
Key Responsibilities In This Role:
- Drive forklifts in a safe and legal manner, ensuring compliance with all legal and site requirements.
- Ensure that consideration is given to other drivers, colleagues and pedestrians in the work area.
- Ensure all daily checks are undertaken ensuring defects are immediately reported and associated paperwork completed.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, such as intake sheets, on time and in full.
- Observe Company rules and procedures as defined in Company Policies and Procedures, such as site rules.
- Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) used is in good order and is utilised as instructed.
- Receive and store stock generated by other departments.
- Accurately record data relating to vehicle temperatures and hygiene.
- Load and unload lorries.
- Receive deliveries, checking condition and accurately completing the necessary paperwork.
- Ensure the storage of stock is in compliance to stock rotation, i.e. Use By dates.
- Ensure stock is segregated in the appropriate designated storage where applicable for products containing allergen.
- Take on ad hoc jobs around the business.
Essential Criteria For Our New Yard Operative:
- A valid forklift licence (counterbalance).
- Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
- Good communication skills with a reasonable level of English.
