Riverway Foods, now part of CPC Group, produces quality sausages with pork sourced from British high welfare farms. We are currently looking for a Despatch Operative to join our busy team in Harlow.
Location: Harlow
Hours: 06:00 to 15:00 Monday to Friday
Pay rate: £13.36
As a Despatch Operative you will be responsible for picking, storing and dispatching finished product to customers, ensuring efficient and accurate handling in accordance with customer order requirements within a chilled environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and check orders for dispatch to customers in a timely manner
- Ensure products are picked and packed in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures
- Receive and store stock generated by other departments
- Wrap stock on pallets
- Accurately record data relating to vehicle temperatures and hygiene
- Ensure stock rotation is respected (use‑by dates)
- Segregate stock containing allergens in designated storage areas
- Report any damage to equipment or work area to management or supervisors
- Report any health and safety hazards and comply with health and safety rules at all times
- Demonstrate a flexible approach to work to meet changing business requirements
- Comply with company policies, practices and standard operating procedures
Skills Required
- A valid forklift licence (counter balance) desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Good level of written and spoken English
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Good IT skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Positive work attitude
- Ability to understand written and verbal work instructions, policies and procedures
