We are looking for a motivated, creative, and caring individual to join our Youth Team as a Senior Youth Worker. This role is central to the development and delivery of our girls’ well-being group—an empowering programme for girls aged 13–18 focused on mental health, confidence, and life skills. You’ll also contribute to the planning and delivery of wider youth clubs and outreach work, supporting young people aged 11–18 to connect, grow, and thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead & Empower – Take charge of a transformative wellbeing group for girls aged 13-18, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self.
  • Shape Vibrant Youth Clubs & Outreach – Be a driving force behind innovative and inclusive youth programmes, ensuring young people have access to life-changing opportunities.
  • Capture & Showcase Our Impact – Play a crucial role in documenting the success stories that stem from Riverview’s work.
  • Keep the Magic Flowing Behind the Scenes – Support the smooth running of all youth groups by handling essential resourcing tasks.
  • Plan & Innovate for the Future – Stay ahead of the curve by researching fresh ideas that will strengthen our ability to support young people effectively.
General Duties:
  • Organise an appropriate programme to achieve outcomes as outlined by the project lead and coordinate ongoing activities.
  • Run blended activity projects including health & wellbeing, community/environmental projects.
  • Outreach work engaging with young people via the Active Parks Programme to contact isolated and 'at risk' groups.
  • Assess the needs of young people and plan/deliver programmes related to education, health, and mental well-being.
  • Mentoring, befriending, and supporting young people, including encouraging social inclusion.
Project Development & Evaluation:
  • Assist in developing, and administering youth and community projects and resources.
  • Evaluate and monitor projects associated with the role.
  • Manage resources effectively and keep proper records during project delivery.
  • Supervise staff, including volunteers, undertaking cover when the Lead is absent.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, planning, and development days.
Partnerships & Networking:
  • Meet, liaise, and network with the community, local police, educational establishments, and other agencies.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the Trust’s Board, Managers, Youth Team, and external professional agencies.
Administration & Reporting:
  • Undertake administrative tasks, verify information, and respond to queries.
  • Assist in creating forms and questionnaires to measure the project.
  • Familiarise with and comply with the Trust’s Health, Safety, and Welfare policy.
  • Ensure child protection policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Training & Development:
  • Undertake service training and relevant training to meet changes in standards or legal requirements.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust and maintain a positive image of its aims and objectives.
Accountability & Resource Management:
  • Take responsibility for the proper use of equipment, furnishings, and provisions required in activities.

Required Criteria:
  • Proven Experience – At least 2 years working with young people.
  • Specialism - Experience in working with girls or young women in youth work or related settings is highly desirable.
  • Qualified & Knowledgeable – Hold a Youth Work qualification or an equivalent in children’s services.
  • Organised & Adaptable – Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks.
  • Engaging & Relationship-Driven – Confident in connecting with young people.
  • Energetic & Inspiring Leader – Able to lead groups and motivate teams.
  • Collaborative & Supportive – A great team player who enjoys working hand-in-hand with youth staff.
  • Committed & Reliable – Available to work weekday after-school hours.
  • Strong Communication Skills – Effective interpersonal, literacy, and numeracy abilities.
  • Digitally Savvy – Competent in digital literacy.
