Join to apply for the Fitness Instructor role at Riverstone Living. We are looking for a Part Time Fitness Instructor working at our new Riverstone residence at Bishops Avenue, near to Hampstead Heath.
Riverstone offers a community for over 65’s that assists with maintaining an active, independent and rewarding lifestyle whilst offering the reassurance of service, security and well-being support. Our purpose-built Spas and Exercise Clubs combine exercise studios, the latest interactive and intuitive EGYM equipment, swimming pools, vitality pools, saunas and steam rooms, all designed to help our residents, all of whom are over 65 years old, to live the life they want to live.
The Fitness Instructor will be responsible for delivering Riverstone’s core fitness offering, supporting residents to maintain or improve their physical strength, mobility, and confidence in a safe, welcoming environment.

- You have a recognised fitness qualification (minimum Level 3 Personal Trainer).
- You have experience working with older adults and a genuine passion for later-life well-being.
Key responsibilities of the Fitness Instructor:
- Deliver resident gym inductions, including standardised functional mobility assessments, benchmarking them against age and sex matched normative data, and providing exercise programs.
- Onboard residents to our EGYM equipment and conduct routine checks of equipment, ensuring safe, tailored usage.
- Deliver a range of core group classes each week, including: Functional Strength, Fall Proof (based on the OTAGO falls prevention programme).
- Conduct annual fitness reviews, assessing progress and updating individual fitness plans.
- Support with coordinating the booking of external instructors.
- Collaborate with the Wellbeing Ambassadors and wider team to provide holistic support to residents.
A rewarding role:
Starting salary of up to £20,840 pro-rated for 20 hours per week, based on experience, plus performance-related bonus. Outside of your core hours there will be an opportunity for you to see residents for private personal training sessions, with the income retained by you. 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday at Bishops Avenue.
