Job Description
The Senior Surveyor oversees the surveying function of the relevant workstream (Damp & Mould, Planned & Complex, Contract Management) and manages team development. Responsibilities include conducting detailed surveys, assessments, and evaluations of properties; preparing reports; ensuring compliance with standards, regulations and HHSRS; coordinating with operational, contracts and commercial teams; and managing pre‑ and post‑inspection processes. The role requires close collaboration with subcontractors, supporting cost‑effectiveness, quality and customer satisfaction.
About You
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field; professional certification (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) highly desirable.
- Experience: 5‑7 years in technical surveying within construction or property services, focusing on damp & mould, major works and capital projects.
- Qualified in HHSRS.
- Experience line managing a surveying team.
- Strong technical knowledge of surveying methods, technologies and regulations; proficiency in surveying software.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, building regulations, health & safety standards and quality assurance processes.
- Experience working within social housing.
- Customer‑focused with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Team player, flexible.
Desirable
- Health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General).
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work as required.
