Working Hours: As and when required

Location: Chadwick House, RSI – London Homelessness Office, Ilford

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high quality, customer-oriented service and ensure all actions are customer-led.
  • Assist in housing management and service provision under the manager’s direction.
  • Maintain and promote dignity for all individuals, improving their health and wellbeing in a safe environment.
  • Foster effective communication with customers and colleagues, adapting to individual communication preferences.
  • Encourage and enable customers to be as independent as possible in daily living skills and quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records promptly.
  • Recognise signs of distress, assess risks, and inform the support team of concerns.
  • Liaise with families, health and social care professionals, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Perform general cleaning and security duties as required.
  • Undertake training and development as required.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience working with diverse backgrounds and sectors of society.
  • Compassionate, patient, reliable and empathetic.
  • Customer-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible and approachable with a positive attitude.
  • Effective team player skilled at meeting business requirements.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding adults at risk procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and willingness to learn organisational IT systems.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a care and support environment.
  • Understanding of regulations and legislation within the housing and social care profession.
  • Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ or Diploma in Health and Social Care).
