The difference you will make as an Electrician:
- To carry out a range of electrical work to our clients' housing stock to ensure that electrical installations are safe for continued use, safeguarding service users, members of the public, clients’ personnel and Riverside employees from any potential danger associated with electricity.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- A full current Driving Licence and able to work alone or as part of a team
- An Electrical Core Qualification such as C&G 2360 Parts 1&2 or equivalent, or NVQ Level 3; consideration given to C&G 2330 or C&G 2357 depending on experience in Domestic/Commercial/Industrial work. They must be willing to complete NVQ Level 3.
- C&G 2392 – Fundamental Certification, Inspection and Testing or C&G 2394 – Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
- C&G 2382-10/12 or 2382-20 or 2382-15 (17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations) or equivalent

Role Profile:
- Ensure that ALL electrical work is carried out in accordance with The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and in line with BS 7671 and Riverside Electrical Procedures and Policies.
- Carry out repair work per works orders and SOPs to meet commercial requirements for visits, quality, outcomes, and costs.
- Carry out Inspection and Testing on all electrical work, maintain paperwork and electronic data records, and ensure completion is confirmed with a comprehensive history for audit, invoicing, quality, and H&S.
- Seek authorisation before proceeding if work differs from the works order and document any additional work for correct invoicing.
- Utilise stock or collect materials to meet works orders, in accordance with purchasing and van stock procedures.
- Attend meetings and training to stay up to date with knowledge, communication, skills, and progression.
- Maintain a professional manner when communicating with service users and external contacts.
- Highlight safeguarding concerns to the relevant customer and Community officer as early as possible.
- Use and maintain company vehicle/van in line with policies; report damage, maintain cleanliness and condition (including daily photographic records).
- Participate in call-out cover when required for emergency repairs.
- Undertake Inspection and Testing and provide certificates/reports to the immediate Supervisor in a timely manner to support invoicing.
- Ensure electrical work is undertaken safely and leave properties free of potential danger.
- Minimise the financial and environmental impact of waste.
Additional Information:
- The Group has offices across the UK; there may be a requirement to travel to other locations to perform this role, with regular support to teams in Camden and Dartford.
- The role will involve handling sensitive information; maintain confidentiality at all times.

Person Specification:
Essential – Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- A full electrical core qualification such as C&G 2360 Parts 1&2 or NVQ Level 3; may include C&G 2330 or C&G 2357 depending on experience; willing to complete NVQ Level 3.
- C&G 2392 or C&G 2394 or C&G 2382-10/12 or 2382-20 or 2382-15 (17th Edition) or equivalent.
- For periodic inspections: C&G2391 or C&G 2395 or demonstrated competence in Inspection & Testing per Guidance Note 3 of the IET.
- Able to work with Domestic properties and related installations; good knowledge of current legislation and NICEIC requirements.
- Good written and verbal communication, numeracy, and ability to follow SOPs; able to use a PDA.
- A full current Driving Licence and ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience with Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems or Small Scale Solar PV; C&G 2399 or related certificate.
- Experience with Portable Appliance Testing (C&G 2377).
- Time-served apprenticeship or extensive domestic setting experience; clear handwritten testing results.
