Responsibilities:

  • Undertake group and one-to-one interventions with clients, using evidence‑based methods such as CBT-informed interventions, psychoeducational groups, or harm minimisation techniques.
  • Provide a comprehensive support planning service to customers in line with the department’s policies, procedures and approach.
  • Assess customers to identify and prioritise needs, and use SMART goal planning to deliver needs‑led holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure the service complies with Riverside’s standing orders, financial regulations and confidentiality policies.
  • Employ IT and other technologies effectively (word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.) to support service delivery.
  • Collaborate on cross‑service initiatives and projects related to specialist areas, including organisational training, reflective case management, WOW projects and peer support groups.
  • Work on a rota basis, including out‑of‑office hours and overnight shifts when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain positive links with key stakeholders to promote opportunities for customers to develop skills toward independence.
  • Where required, administer medication and carry out duty shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification that qualifies for registration with a professional body (HCPC, UKCP, BACP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of specialist assessment tools, methods and case formulation.
  • Knowledge of evidence‑based specialist interventions appropriate for mental health and community settings.
  • Experience of undertaking customer assessments, support planning and key‑working with an outcome focus.
  • Knowledge of the recovery model, peer support and coproduction procedures.
  • Experience working in community settings therapeutically (including designing interventions and demonstrating outcomes).
  • Experience running therapeutic groups.
  • Ability to react to crisis situations in a calm, effective way.
  • Basic IT skills and literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, email, etc.).
  • Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of letters, reports and file notes.
  • Ability to contribute to effective team working and promote Equality & Diversity.
  • Relevant professional qualification in the area of expertise (e.g., drug and alcohol, counselling, psychology, OT, nursing or social work).
  • Level 3 Diploma or willingness to work towards it (for CQC Registered services).
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, government frameworks and safeguarding procedures for children and adults.
  • Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to provide regular monitoring information as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience supervising medication.
  • Experience designing and providing training.
