Your Role
If you are looking to work with the UK's largest Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealership, which has been announced as a Great Place to Work for four years running, look no further! At Rygor Service Solutions, part of the Rygor Group, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) Manager who leads by example and inspires the team around them. They are looking for a great team member who will create a fabulous working atmosphere, enthuse and motivate their team. This role is key to business success. Not only do you spend at least 60% of your time managing and guiding your team, but you also have the responsibility to ensure your department achieves. Your role is all about brilliant communication, a positive outlook and inspiring those around you.
Day to day, you will:
- Plan and control your workforce resource availability to meet your customers’ fleet demands.
- Manage and control labour costs, including any use of third parties.
- Comply with safety audits and manage the working code of practice for contractors.
- Ensure planning for facilities, bays, machines, tools, diagnosis installations, etc., is carried out correctly, optimal design of workplaces and processes.
- Prepare planning and calculations for investments in workshops, facilities and HR, together with the Rygor management.
- Regularly review prices for workshop services and, after prior agreement with Rygor management, adapt them to suit the market.
- Measure and report on daily workshop performance around retail sales, warranty and internal contract.
- WIP management and cash control.
- Employ new staff and carry out effective induction.
- Manage, coach and motivate employees, ensuring retention of high-quality team members.
- Define target agreements with employees and review the level of target achievement.
Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:
- Qualifications: You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in Vehicle Repair and maintenance. Also, previous experience in a similar role and industry is preferred.

- Time Management: Ability to prioritise and complete tasks within timeframes to meet customer demands and maintain workshop efficiency.
