As an HGV (Truck) Technician for Rygor Service Solutions, part of the Rygor Group, your role is to keep their customers’ vehicles on the road, via quality, safe and compliant maintenance. There are plenty of overtime opportunities for you too. Being part of Team Rygor is about being experts in what they do. They are committed to investing in your career and skill set, so when you join their technical team at their Reading fleet workshop, where they maintain Mercedes-Benz trucks (Daimler Trucks), you will benefit from BPW and LOLER training, as well as online H&S e-learnings.

🗓️Day to day, you will be:

  • Performing major and minor repairs to heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes.
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.

⚙️ Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:

  • Qualification - You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance. What’s more, you will need the ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.
  • Resilience - A resilient person is someone who has strong coping skills and can draw on these when life presents challenges.
  • Motivation - To ensure personal and team success, being motivated is essential and is a key part of your role and it is part of being a brilliant team player.
