I am seeking a site-based motivated Project Engineer on a permanent basis to join a global organisation based in Northampton. This international automotive business operates a single UK site, which manufactures and supplies steel components that are a critical link within all suspension systems for commercial heavy goods vehicles and trailers.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading, managing and executing technical engineering projects from concept through to production. You’ll act as a key technical connection between customers, project management and design, managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of CAD is required for this role, however direct experience within this specific sector is not essential. Occasional customer site visits are required in the UK and Europe.

Location: Wellingborough

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Mon to Thurs 8am – 4.30pm, Fri 8am – 1.30pm

Salary: £45,000.00 - £50,000.00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical and project management of suspension projects
  • Communicate internally with the engineering team in the UK and Europe, purchasing and quality team
  • Carry out installation checks, design reviews, and engineering calculations
  • Liaise as the technical bridge with customers regularly
  • Resolve technical issues with both customers and suppliers when required
  • Oversee design reviews, and design for manufacture and assembly activities
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools (preferably Siemens NX and ANSYS)
  • Ensure timely completion of engineering project documentation
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and targets are met
  • Take ownership for technical decisions within the assigned project
  • Follow company policy procedures and processes

You must have proven experience within a similar role and hold an engineering qualification to apply. Please note: Sponsorship is not an option.
