I am seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter to join a precision engineering company based in Rugby. This company is a specialist in precision engineering, manufacturing high‑tolerance components for the medical, aerospace and motorsport sectors. With CNC capabilities and quality standards, they produce complex parts that meet the demanding requirements of safety‑critical and performance‑driven industries. Their commitment to quality and precision has made them a trusted supplier worldwide.

Location: Rugby

Hours: Monday to Thursday 2pm – 12am

Salary: £39,800 - £51,500 DOE

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery (Sliding Heads), producing components, managing tool set up and ensuring high quality production throughout each run. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, requiring minimal supervision and have proven / current experience within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Set, program and operate Fixed Head CNC turning machines
  • Produce first‑off components to drawing
  • Manage tooling, offsets, wear and replacements escalating when necessary
  • Complete in‑process inspection using a range of measurement equipment
  • Update production systems and maintain accurate records
  • Support continuous improvement and structured process to move product to manufacturing NPI and TPM activities
  • Maintain a clean, organised work area in line with 5S standards

To be considered:

  • Strong CNC machining background (Fixed Head Turning)
  • Ability to read and understand NC programs (Fanuc & Mitsubishi)
  • Good knowledge of materials and cutting data
  • Confident using measurement equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Good communication, teamwork and IT skills
