We are looking for a skilled and motivated Machine Operator to join our client’s production team in Sparkford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience operating Press Brakes, CNC Routers or Laser Cutting Machines who enjoys working in a fast-paced engineering environment where quality, safety and teamwork are key.
You will be responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring machinery, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:- Setting and operating Press Brakes, CNC Routers and Laser Cutting machines
- Loading and unloading raw materials and finished components
- Checking materials for correct size, thickness and specification
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Inspecting, measuring and quality-checking components against drawings
- Deburring, sorting and routing cut parts
- Carrying out metal forming and finishing operations
- Completing production and quality documentation accurately
- Supporting preventative maintenance activities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production and delivery targets
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
- Previous experience operating Press Brakes, CNC Routers or Laser Cutting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using measuring equipment including verniers, squares, protractors and tape measures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of nesting software
- Experience with Sage or CIM50
- Competent with Microsoft 365 applications
You’ll be a positive, organised and self-motivated individual who enjoys working systematically and taking pride in producing high-quality work. You’ll be comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and capable of carrying out the physical aspects of the role safely and efficiently.
