We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Administrator on behalf of our client, a large and well-established Engineering company based in Carlisle. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable organisation with a strong industry presence and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

The Role: As a Procurement Administrator, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the procurement team, ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials and services required for engineering projects. You will play a key role in maintaining supplier relationships and supporting purchasing activities across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising and processing purchase orders in line with company procedures
  • Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm orders, and resolve queries
  • Monitoring order progress, delivery schedules, and lead times
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records and updating internal systems
  • Supporting contract and supplier documentation management
  • Assisting with cost control, reporting, and procurement analysis
  • Working closely with internal departments including engineering, production, and finance
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and quality standards

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain administration role
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment is highly desirable (NOT ESSENTIAL)
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Competent IT skills, including MS Office and procurement systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
