We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional person to join our team of Medical Receptionists/Care Navigators and be the welcoming face of our practice.
Main duties of the job
- Greet patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner.
- Answer phone calls, manage enquiries, and schedule appointments.
- Maintain patient records and ensure accurate data entry.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to support smooth patient flow.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area.

About us
Riverside Health Partnership is a patient focused healthcare practice committed to delivering outstanding care and a positive experience to our 24,000 plus patients at every visit. We are a 4 site surgery based in Retford, Harworth, Misterton & Gringley; the successful candidate will be expected to work across all sites. You will be part of a large busy team working on the front line in a patient facing role, supporting and assisting our clinical team of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants.
Job responsibilities
A Medical receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients in a health care setting. They are responsible for managing front desk operations, providing excellent patient service, and supporting clinical staff through accurate administrative work. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to details, and the ability to work in a fast paced medical environment.
Core Duties
- Greeting patients in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Answering incoming calls, responding to enquiries and routine messages appropriately.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with GDPR and practice policies.

Experience
- Experience of working in a customer/patient/client facing role.
- Experience of working in a customer service role.
- Previous experience working in a GP surgery is desirable, however, not essential.
Qualifications
- GCSE pass in English and Maths.
