Business Development Manager
Riverside Environmental Services Ltd is seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, re‑engaging dormant accounts, and managing the full sales cycle within a B2B, consultative service‑led environment.
Location: Kent or Birmingham
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum + uncapped OTE (expected first‑year earnings circa £40,000)
Note: This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
Preference: Candidates with an asbestos background are particularly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a structured 4‑week training and onboarding programme covering company services, sales processes, and target strategy
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets through outbound B2B sales activity (prospecting, nurturing, converting new business)
- Account management of lapsed and dormant clients
- Maintain accurate records and pipeline updates using the CRM system (HubSpot desirable)
- Liaise internally with technical departments to obtain pricing and prepare detailed proposals
- Negotiate terms with clients to secure new and repeat business
- Consistently meet performance targets, with progression opportunities linked to results
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proven experience in B2B consultative sales within a service‑based industry
- Strong communication skills (telephone, email, and face‑to‑face)
- Confident, enthusiastic, and results‑driven approach
- High level of organisation and time management
- IT literate, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems (HubSpot desirable)
