Role Overview

Are you an experienced Residential Childcare professional looking for your next big opportunity? We are seeking a compassionate Children’s EBD Ofsted Registered Manager who can lead a team confidently and ensure the safety and well‑being of children in the home. This is a rare opportunity to take the lead and bring your own personal flair to shaping and growing this newly established home.

This warm and welcoming four‑bedroom home is situated in a homely residential area of north Coventry and offers a safe haven for children aged 8 to 18 to receive child‑centred care and support for the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) they have faced. The home also boasts a welcoming annex, with plans to create a support‑living environment in the future if needed. This home is open, has a \”Good\” with Ofsted and currently has children placed within. Your leadership will be central in creating a safe, stable, and inspiring environment where children can thrive.

Role of a Children’s EBD Registered Manager

  • Manage the day‑to‑day running of an Ofsted registered residential home
  • Maintain a therapeutic, child‑centred environment
  • Provide excellent knowledge and compliance with Children’s Homes regulations, the 9 Quality Standards, Children’s Act, Leaving Care Act and other legislation
  • Support with the recruitment and development of your team
  • Provide training and development to staff, conducting progressive staff supervisions
  • Lead team meetings, ensuring support is consistent across the team
  • Organisation around referrals and matching processes
  • Manage the finances and budgeting within the home
  • Support and build your staff’s confidence to ensure positive outcomes are provided to the children
  • Delegate tasks and lead by example
  • Maintain excellent safeguarding policies at all times
  • Manage staff rotas and act as a positive role model to both staff and children
  • Liaise with social workers, teachers, psychologists, and families of the children
  • Oversee Ofsted inspections and Reg 44 visits

Requirements of a Children’s EBD Registered Manager

  • Must have a caring and open‑minded nature and a passion for supporting children
  • Must comply with Section 28 of the Children’s Home Regulations
  • Must have worked in an Ofsted‑registered children’s setting for 2 of the last 5 years
  • Must have a Level 3 or 4 Residential Childcare qualification (or equivalent)
  • Ideally hold a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification
  • Experience and knowledge of emotional and behavioural needs and ACEs
  • Ideally have experience of fit‑for‑purpose interviews & experience holding a registration
  • Be willing to work on‑call
  • Must be a driver with a valid UK Driving Licence

Hours: Monday – Friday (Some flexibility may be required)
