Are you highly experienced in residential childcare and looking for your next leadership opportunity as a Childrens Residential Deputy Manager? A role where you can provide stability, and make a lasting difference in the lives of children and the team that supports them?
We are seeking someone experienced to join our dedicated and passionate team to provide therapeutic support to children in a 3 bed EBD home. This warm and welcoming home, located in a lovely suburban area of Early, provides a safe, structured environment. The home is led by a dedicated Registered Manager, who prioritises therapeutic and trauma-informed care for children between the ages of 11-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. By building nurturing relationships, fostering healthy attachments, and supporting the development of life skills, you and your team will ensure each child feels safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.
As Childrens Residential Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, working closely with the Registered Manager and staff team to deliver outstanding, child-centred care. You will support the effective running of the home, deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence and act as a positive role model for both children and staff.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge and experience to ensure high-quality, child-centred support. They will need to have excellent working knowledge of risk assessment, care planning, The Childrens Homes Regulations as well of experience of leading a team.
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Monday - Friday (Some shifts required on occasion, inc weekends)

Role of a Childrens Residential Deputy Manager
- Support your Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
- Be able to confidently manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager
- Support with Reg 44 visits and Ofsted inspections
- Comply with and maintain a good understanding the Childrens Homes Regulations
- Implement high-quality standards of therapeutic and trauma-informed care
- Maintain a warm, welcoming and home-like environment
- Keep up-to-date records and have the ability to write clear reports
- Engage with the children therapeutically, prioritising positive outcomes and healthy relationships
- Provide guidance, support, and ad hoc training to the team within the home
- Promote company ethos, values, policies, and procedures at all times
- Take responsibility for the Safeguarding and Protection of children and the team
- Adhere to the values of the company and the statement of purpose at all times
- Attend and contribute to meetings and care plans
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, social workers, healthcare professionals, education professionals, and families.
Requirements of a Childrens Residential Deputy Manager
- Have a genuine passion for providing children with positive outcomes
- Must hold a Level 3 or 4 Residential Childcare qualification (or be currently enrolled)
- Must be a driver with a valid UK Driving Licence
- Must have prior experience working within an Ofsted-regulated residential childrens home
- Have strong experience in supporting emotional, social, and behavioural needs
- Have a good understanding of ACEs, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic practices
- Be able to work an occasional shift (depending on the needs of the home)
