The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
We are currently looking for full‑time HGV Drivers (Category C) to join our busy teams at the Duncrue Street site in Belfast. As a Driver you will be required to complete multi‑drop deliveries and collections throughout NI, and to collect and move commercial containers when required. On the day shift you will start your shift as per the rota between Monday and Saturday.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent customer service skills that support the RiverRidge Brand
- Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times
- Complete vehicle checks in line with Operating licence procedures, reporting defects to the Transport Office (both electronically and verbally)
- Follow all regulations relating to driver’s hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
- Work collaboratively with the transport team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained and continually improved
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Undertake all necessary training and cooperate with the security clearance process as required
- Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department
Essential Criteria
- Must hold a valid HGV licence – Category C
- Must hold a Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC
- Full UK Driving Licence (max 6 penalty points)
- Basic disclosure checks (e.g., Access NI) required and must be maintained
- Ability to undertake manual work
- Flexible approach to working hours required for finish times, weekends, and bank holidays
- Excellent customer service skills
- Team player
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good knowledge of driver’s hours, rules and regulations
Desirable Criteria
- Minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience
- Previous experience working in the waste industry
- Any offer of employment will be subject to a successful driving assessment
- Must be able to provide documentation to confirm eligibility to work in the UK
What we offer
- Competitive hourly rate – £15.73 ph (Day shift)
- Annual bonus scheme available
- Overtime rate of Time and a Half for hours worked over 44 hours Monday to Friday
- Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday – Time and a Half
- 28 days annual leave (incl. of 8 customary/bank holidays)
