Overview
Do you want a role where you can lead a field team, improve rivers and waterways, and build strong community partnerships—all in one job? We’re looking for a Team Leader (Stewardship Partnership) to lead delivery of the Humber Stewardship Partnership: a funded programme of waterway maintenance, habitat improvement and community engagement across the Humber region. You’ll take ownership of project delivery from planning to close‑out, while developing a capable, motivated team (including mentoring apprentices) and representing Riverlution with stakeholders and communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver environmental projects (Project Management): Scope and plan a range of works, ensuring projects align with stakeholder goals and wider stewardship objectives. Manage delivery day‑to‑day, including resource scheduling, health & safety, quality, compliance, budget management, and end‑of‑project reviews (commercial and H&S).
- Build a high‑performing team (Leadership & Line Management): Oversee and develop a dedicated team focused on quality, safety, and professional growth. Line manage effectively: absence monitoring, annual leave, performance reviews, wellbeing checks, and identifying training/development needs (including apprentices).
- Put safety and standards first (H&S, Quality & Compliance): Lead briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions; ensure compliance with H&S legislation, policies and site rules. Liaise with the SHEQ/H&S team, report hazards/near misses/incidents, and ensure appropriate actions are taken where incidents occur. Follow method statements and risk assessments, drive quality and continuous improvement.
- Look after kit and people (Equipment, Materials & PPE): Ensure PPE is used correctly, and equipment is maintained, stored securely, and used only with proper training/supervision. Complete relevant equipment/materials paperwork as required.
- Be the face of the partnership (External Relationships): Nurture relationships with local communities, businesses and environmental organisations. Represent Riverlution at events and stakeholder meetings and treat business/site information as confidential.
Essential Qualifications / Certifications
- DBS
- Full driving licence (with 5 or less points to meet fleet insurance requirements)
- First Aid at Work and Forestry Safe working near water (or in water)
- SSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme)
- Brushcutter (LANTRA or equivalent certifications)
- Pesticide application (PA1, PA6, +W LANTRA or equivalent)

Additional Information
