The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

The role will provide dedicated non-clinical support and administration for mothers and children as well as being the administrative contact for safeguarding issues. The role will also involve working alongside the reception team to ensure that the surgery's appointments, systems and processes are as effective as possible to allow us to deliver an outstanding level of personal medical services to the patients of the practice. All members of the Administrative Team are required to carry out some hours on main reception during the course of their normal working week.

Main duties of the job

  • Recording of EDD for pregnant females
  • Inviting of pregnant patients to attend for whooping cough vaccine
  • Recording of delivery and birth details of child
  • Arranging post-natal appointments and 6-week checks
  • Readcode type of delivery for payment of whooping cough vaccine
  • Records which patients have received whooping cough vaccine
  • To be aware of all necessary vaccinations required by children
  • Monitoring of childhood immunisations to include inviting and reminders
  • To chase up any non-attenders
  • Submission of immunisation figures
  • Liaising with CHS GP lead, health visitors, school nurses, social workers and any members from organisations involved in CHS, to highlight, update and document details of any children on at risk/looked after register
  • Organise and attend 3 monthly CHS meetings
  • Support CHS GP lead where required
  • Prompt updating of patient records re safeguarding issues
  • Gather information / process safeguarding reports for social workers

Person Specification

  • Understanding the importance of dealing with confidential/sensitive issues appropriately
  • Be able to create a good rapport with patients
  • Experience of working in primary care
