As our Solution Architect, you’ll help shape Riverford’s future. You’ll help to deliver our multi-year digital transformation by working across business and technical teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that align with our strategic goals. You will be the go-to person for solution input to any new systems initiatives, and you will ensure seamless integration between critical enterprise systems while maintaining best practice in architecture, security, and compliance. This is more than a technical role; it’s an opportunity to shape how we work together and thrive as an employee-owned business.

Salary: Circa £90,000 per annum d.o.e

Location: This role can be remote with a requirement to be on-site when needed (this would typically be 3-5 days/month determined by specific project needs), or based at Wash Farm, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Bring…

  • Sector experience: Hands‑on experience in food and drink, retail, logistics, or B2C environments adds valuable insight.

What We’re Looking For…

  • A successful track record as a Solution Architect (or similar) within major technology transformations ideally in a complex eCommerce/retail environment.
  • Proven experience from selection to implementation of ERP, with in-depth knowledge of IFS Cloud and ideally one other major platform e.g. SAP, Oracle, Aptean, Epicor, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Equally adept at designing and implementing bespoke in-house integration layers and have practical experience of integration and Middleware to ensure seamless system interoperability with bespoke and COTs (Commercial off the Shelf) solutions.
  • Expertise in cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, and integration patterns.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, data modelling, data lakes, and ETL processes.
  • Thorough understanding of data security, governance, compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and best practices for enterprise data management.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  • Scrum/Agile expertise is advantageous.
