Work with us at Riverford, and join a thriving employee-owned business. Be part of a supportive, down-to-earth and solutions driven RHD team.
At Riverford, our passion for organic vegetables is unmatched. We're not just about delivering veg boxes; we're dedicated to sustainable farming and community building. As a part of our team, you become a co-owner, sharing in our successes and contributing to a mission that goes beyond profit. We aim to make Riverford a fulfilling place to work, where our co-owners feel valued.
Our HQ at Wash Farm in Devon is a beautiful place to work, surrounded by good people, good food, and plenty of fresh air. As a co-owner, you'll benefit from 33 days holiday (pro rata, including bank holidays), an ethical & generous company pension scheme, and an annual profit share, where 10% of all profits are split equally among co-owners. We also offer heavily discounted organic breakfasts and lunches, free organic fruit and veg to take home and free parking.
As our RHD Regional Delivery Manager, you'll help shape Riverford's future. We're looking for an experienced manager to lead, mentor and enable our driver team managers across 12 delivery hubs in our Northern and Midlands region. Hubs are spread across Manchester, Oxford, York and Newcastle to name a few. You will be expected to visit the majority of these on a monthly basis.
This role is ultimately responsible for the operational delivery of our customer orders in your region, working with the team managers to make sure that drivers deliver every box in a safe, timely, and efficient way, are customer focused, and are keen to make an excellent impression as the face of Riverford.
You will be responsible for maintaining a collaborative and an inclusive environment to share best practice across the region. You'll need to deliver our broader strategy at a regional level, engage and motivate your teams, promote Riverford's values, and strive to make co-owners working lives better.
Reporting to the RHD & Transport Director, you'll be responsible for the financial success of the region: delivering forecasted growth and operating your delivery hubs within budget. You'll also be responsible for the behaviour of our drivers, with a focus on continual improvement. Ensuring that health and safety standards and all legal compliances are adhered to is paramount; our drivers are such an important part of Riverford, and their welfare is hugely important to us.
Salary: £46,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience to include an electric company car.
Location: Based within the North/Midland region, the successful candidate needs to be based within a commutable distance to the hubs aligned to the Midlands and the North with the occasional overnight stay.
Hours: Working 40 hours per week usually Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required as start and finish times vary, along with occasional weekend working.
What You'll Bring
- Experience of working in a multi-site last mile delivery environment, preferably within the retail food sector.
- A solid understanding of carrier operations, in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience leading remote teams where you have built alignment, shared purpose, and collaboration.
- Strong commercial understanding and previous accountability for contribution-target-based results.
- Management and control of top-level cost and productivity KPIs.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills are required, along with demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Experience leading and working towards organisational change, taking an inclusive approach and bringing the team along with you.
- Adaptability and flexibility in how you support the Regional Delivery team and the needs of the business.
- A demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and influence work behaviours.
What We're Looking For
- An experienced leader and people manager, who can both lead and mentor our Team Leaders.
- Adaptable, supportive, sound judgement, courage to challenge, commercial knowledge, calm under pressure, able to manage ever-changing priorities.
- Excellent leadership, people management, communication and influencing skills at a senior level.
Application Process: Applications will be reviewed during the process so we would encourage you to apply before the closing date as the role may be closed early. Screening calls will take place week commencing 27th April and first stage interviews on the 5th May from our Castle Bromwich depot.
