The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

At our butchery we produce over 22,000 packs of meat a week. As a Butchery Assistant, you will support our butchers and packing teams in producing our meat packs and stock. This will involve packing meat into vacuum packs for aging and assisting the Primal Butchery team with rotating and labelling stock. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that they have the right work ethic, and the aptitude and enthusiasm to learn and progress; if you have that and are willing to work hard, we can offer you the chance to learn more about meat production.

Responsibilities

  • Assist butchers and packing teams in producing meat packs and stock.
  • Pack meat into vacuum packs for aging.
  • Assist the Primal Butchery team with rotating and labelling stock.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm to progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ideally previous experience in a production or warehousing environment.
  • Comfortable working in a cold environment.
  • Able to lift and manoeuvre crates of produce.
  • Good communication skills; able to speak and write English to understand instructions and daily role requirements.

Logistics & Benefits

  • This role is a permanent contract, 39 hours per week.
  • Working Sunday to Thursday, including Bank Holidays.
  • Location: The Butchery, Dean Court, Lower Dean, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0LT. Reliable transportation is required as it is not accessible by public transport routes.
  • Pay: £13.11 per hour.
