You will report to the Engineering Industrialisation & Projects Manager, working closely with local Hub Managers and the Engineering and Facilities Services leadership team to carry out hands on maintenance, small repairs, planned works, and ensure issues are addressed safely and effectively.
The work scheduling and prioritisation will be coordinated locally in collaboration with the RHD regional managers at regular intervals, and you will play a key role in delivering the required tasks safely and to budget and managing specialist contractors as needed. Health & Safety will sit at the centre of your work. Whether you’re completing a repair, assessing a site condition, or supporting a contractor, you’ll always lead by example — ensuring safety standards are maintained and co-owners are protected.
This role suits someone who enjoys travelling between sites up and down the country, solving practical problems, working independently, and delivering great service to our RHD co-owners. Your work will help maintain consistent standards across all hubs and contribute to a safe, reliable, and resilient delivery operation. You will be based on our farm in Buckfastleigh, but will be expected to travel weekly which may require you to spend time away through the week.
Your job is to react to priority issues support compliance of equipment with the Facilities coordinator. You will need to deliver a high level of customer service to the RHD regional managers, so strong communication skills, along with an ability to manage expectations and juggle multiple tasks, is really important. There will also be a requirement to work with the Engineering Industrialisation & Projects Manager when site enhancement works are required, either as a lead or as part of the project team.
Salary: Up to £40,000 - £45,000 per annum d.o.e
Location: Based at Wash Farm, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU, but will be expected to travel weekly which may require you to spend time away through the week.
Hours: 40 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday, flexibility of hours should be expected. This is a 12 month fixed term contract with the potential of being extended to meet the needs of the business if required.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong awareness of safe working practices and H&S requirements
- Experience in multi-skilled facilities maintenance or building services
- Practical skills across building fabric, basic electrical work, and general repairs
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites
- Project management experience is helpful
- Experience of working to budgets with accountability for project costs
- The ability to remain flexible and adaptable as well as organised in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams
- Continually looks for areas of improvement with the ability to constructively challenge established thinking and implement new practices or approaches for the benefit of our customers
- Proven ability to lead and direct contractors
- Full UK driving licence essential
