About The Riverford Field Kitchen:

Riverford Field Kitchen, our 70‑cover farm restaurant, opened in 2005, and has been extraordinarily successful both in terms of reviews and awards. We change our menu daily according to what’s available – if something isn’t in season, you won’t find it on the menu. Riverford is mad about organic veg, which is at the core of everything we do. We love to grow it, pack it into boxes, and deliver it to around 70,000 homes across the UK every week. Working here makes you a ‘co‑owner’, since Riverford is employee‑owned. Success means much more than just profits; we want this to be a place people enjoy coming to work, and a business our co‑owners feel proud of!

Benefits:

  • 33 days’ holiday (pro rata, including bank holidays)
  • Free organic fruit and veg to take home
  • 30% off veg boxes and our online shop
  • Time and a half on bank holidays
  • Free meals during service
  • Free parking on‑site
  • Salary: £14.36 per hour plus tips

Location: This role is based at The Field Kitchen, Wash Barn, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU. You’ll need to live locally and have your own transport to get here.

This is a fixed‑term seasonal contract running from April 2026 to September 2026, offering 30+ hours per week, with the potential for additional hours during peak times. Flexibility is essential—working hours may vary from day to day and week to week. Evening and weekend work is a key part of the role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Part of the team serving wonderful food and locally‑sourced drinks
  • Make fresh juices
  • Help keep the restaurant clean and tidy
  • Occasionally harvest some produce from our polytunnel and garden
  • Have some experience of waiting in a restaurant and be a natural at dealing with customers
  • Have an interest in, and ability to learn about, food, farming and the environment
  • As Shift Leader, ensure the smooth running of service once or twice a week in the absence of the Field Kitchen Managers, including writing up the daily menu with the FK Chefs, managing table & seating plans for our guests, organising the FOH team and liaising with the kitchen team to run smooth shifts and cashing up tills.
