The Lead Clinician will provide expert leadership and management of our Specialists in the Trust (SIT Team) within River Tees Hospital School. They will ensure the delivery of high-quality, child-centred healthcare that supports learners' medical needs, wellbeing, and educational progress.

The post holder will work collaboratively with educational staff, healthcare professionals, families and external agencies to contribute to the holistic care and recovery of learners, facilitating their journey back to mainstream or specialised education pathways.

The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a caseload. Working collaboratively with the team, the postholder will deliver bespoke assessments and interventions for learners who present with complex medical profiles of need because of their neurodivergence and/or developmental trauma.

They will also be responsible for the line management of the members of the onsite Specialist Team and leading on the service development of the clinical school-based service, alongside schools SLT.

Our SIT Team helps maintain a person-centred, empowering approach always putting learners we support at the forefront of everything we do. Staff work together in school and across the Trust, sharing their experience, reflecting on evidence-based research and innovating to discover pedagogies that work for each individual learner.
