We are currently looking for HGV Drivers (C) to join our busy teams at our site in Portadown. As a Driver you will be required to complete multi drop deliveries and collections throughout NI. The Driver will also be required to collect and move commercial containers when required. As a day shift driver, you will work Monday to Friday, with Saturdays required on a rota basis.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent customer service skills that support the RiverRidge Brand
- Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times
- Complete vehicle checks in line with Operating licence procedures, reporting any defects to the Transport Office (both electronically and verbally)
- Follow all regulations relating to driver's hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
- Work collaboratively with the transport team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained, and continually improved
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Undertake all necessary training, & cooperate with the security clearance process as required
- Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department
Essential Criteria
- Must hold a valid HGV licence - Category 'C'
- Must hold a Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC
- Full UK Driving Licence (Max of 6 penalty points)
- Basic disclosure checks i.e., Access NI, will be required and should be maintained
- Ability to undertake manual work
- Flexible approach to working hours is required in relation to finish times, weekends, and bank holidays
- Excellent customer service skills
- Team Player
- Good Communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Good Knowledge of driver's hours, rules, and regulations
Desirable Criteria
- Minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience
- Previous experience working in the waste industry
Any offer of employment will be subject to a successful driving assessment. Must be able to provide documentation to confirm your eligibility to work in the UK.
