Location: Duncrue Street, Belfast (2 posts) & Garvagh (1 post) (Please note: Due to the nature of the role, you may be required to work at other depots within the group and attend customer premises as needed.)

We are seeking motivated and ambitious individuals to join our Transport team as a Transport Supervisor through a structured development programme running over a period of 2 years. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and previous supervisory experience who is ready to step into a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is looking to build a long-term career in transport and logistics. The successful applicant will be supported through a comprehensive learning pathway, combining hands-on experience with formal training and recognised qualifications.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Participate in a structured development programme over a defined period of 2 years
  • Complete relevant transport, logistics, health & safety and leadership courses to support your learning.
  • Receive mentoring and on-the-job coaching from experienced transport professionals
  • Gradually take on increased responsibility as competencies are achieved

A willingness and commitment to complete required training and development courses is essential.

About the Role:

  • Assisting with the coordination of HGV fleet activities to ensure timely and efficient collections, deliveries and waste transfers
  • Lead and supervise HGV Drivers, Helpers and Transport Office Staff to ensure high performance and service quality
  • Supervise daily transport operations, including routing, scheduling, and driver allocation
  • Monitor fleet activity, ensuring all journeys are completed safely, legally, and on time
  • Oversee vehicle compliance, including maintenance schedules and defect reporting
  • People-related activities, including absence management and monitoring, conducting return to work meetings, managing disciplinary and grievance processes in line with company policy, supporting performance management, coaching, and development
  • Ensure adherence to transport legislation, company policies, and health & safety standards
  • Building strong communication with both internal/external stakeholders to resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare operational/KPI reports as required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service delivery
  • Must be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role

Essential Criteria:

  • Has a genuine interest in transport and logistics
  • Is willing to study for and complete relevant courses as part of the development programme
  • Minimum of 1 years' previous supervisory experience within transport, logistics, or a similar operational environment
  • Good knowledge of transport operations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Flexible approach to working hours to support operational effectiveness.
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office) and willingness to learn transport systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence (travel between depots will be required)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Proficient in using transport or fleet management systems
