Our Design Team delivers stand‑out, affordable fashion with unique style and touches that underpin the River Island handwriting. As a Designer, you will be leading the direction for Womenswear Print and be accountable for your own styles for inclusion in various ranges, representing key trends and driving commercial results.

Utilise broad market knowledge and customer awareness alongside a thorough understanding of the River Island brand to add input and influence ideas across the Womenswear Print Department.

  • Deliver directional Womens fashion prints for use across clothing and accessories.
  • Have experience in all‑over fashion print.
  • Drive development that addresses key trends and opportunities.
  • Ensure designs reflect our brand values and Womenswear customer.
  • Support the wider design team as well as manage your own designs and workflow.
  • Confidently present designs to the Senior management team.
  • Be highly versatile with your handwriting.

Have a keen interest in the Womenswear fashion market and trends. Possess advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills. Have a number of years design experience, ideally in a multichannel fashion environment or supplier. Ideally operating at Designer level. Be passionate about fashion and design. Be able to work in a fast‑paced environment while delivering projects on time. Be ambitious, keen and willing to learn. Work effectively on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Be a team player who is happy assisting colleagues with tasks outside their own job role when required. Have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to think quickly, plan and organise your tasks. Communicate clearly, accurately and confidently. Have a high level of attention to detail.
