Responsible for optimising stock management and inventory control through the effective use of RFID technology, data analytics, and process improvement.

This role oversees all business‑as‑usual RFID operations, ensuring stock accuracy, data integrity, and operational efficiency while supporting initiatives to reduce stock loss and improve business performance.

Working collaboratively across multiple functions, the role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement, implementing system enhancements, and delivering actionable business insights through reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of RFID inventory processes, ensuring stock‑takes are completed accurately, variances are investigated, and all activities are delivered within agreed timelines.
  • Investigate, resolve and document RFID count exceptions, inventory discrepancies and system‑related issues, providing support and expertise to stores and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain operational systems, records, procedures and documentation to ensure RFID processes remain effective, scalable and aligned with business requirements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT, Retail Operations and external partners to manage system escalations, resolve data inconsistencies and support operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure the accuracy, maintenance and ongoing development of reporting systems, databases, dashboards and data‑management processes.
  • Review and approve performance, loss and variance reporting, providing meaningful insights to support business decision‑making.
  • Deliver weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc reporting on RFID performance, stock accuracy, stock loss and operational metrics.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into stock loss and support audit activity through the provision of validated and accurate data.
  • Develop EPC‑level reporting, advanced data visualisations and dashboards to communicate key business insights effectively.
  • Manage code storage and version control processes, ensuring robust documentation and governance standards are maintained.
  • Utilise multiple data sources and systems to identify the most effective use of available data, whilst highlighting opportunities to improve data capture and reporting capabilities.
  • Work closely with Retail Operations, Risk, Finance and other key stakeholders to share insights, best practice and support business objectives.
  • Provide regular updates, reporting insights and process health reviews to stakeholders across the business.
  • Partner with Risk and Measurement teams, contributing analytical expertise and reporting support.
  • Evaluate and support the implementation of new RFID technologies, features, labels and systems in partnership with external vendors.
  • Lead and support key projects, including process automation, stock‑take efficiency improvements, RFID tag transitions, system enhancements and bulk write‑off processes, with a focus on reducing operational costs and improving efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience using SQL for data extraction, reporting and validation.
  • Experience of working with third‑party vendors and supporting audit activity is desirable.
  • Experience within retail operations and/or change management environments would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience of RFID technology within a retail environment would be highly beneficial, although not essential.
