We are looking for a surveyor to join our Property Team, reporting to the Head of Property, to ensure we get the best from our store portfolio, helping to drive profitability for the business.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Actively oversee the store estate in line with River Island’s Property Strategy, negotiating terms for new stores, lease renewals, rent reviews and regears directly with landlords and their agents, as well as working with our own external agents.
  • Work with RI Finance to appraise deals and the ultimate profitability of any one store.
  • Collaborate with the in‑house Legal Team and external lawyers to complete transactions in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
  • Work with the Shopfitting team to facilitate the smooth completion of refits and the fitting out of new stores.
  • Manage relationships with landlords and property management companies.
  • Manage our rating consultants and support the Property Management Coordinator in her dealings with them.
  • Support the Property Management Coordinator in her dealings with our Service Charge Consultants.

Requirements

  • MRICS.
  • 3–5 years of post‑qualification experience either with a national retailer or in private practice.
  • Problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Excellent communication skills.
